Upland Wood Flooring is a wood flooring company based in Upland, CA, with more than 20 years of experience refinishing, repairing and installing hardwood floors. We work on everything from original oak in older houses to new engineered floors glued to concrete slabs.

Our work is built on a simple habit: look before we promise. A floor tells you a lot about the house it sits in, and the right answer for one floor can be the wrong one for the next. So we look at the subfloor, the moisture, the finish history and the wood that is left before we recommend a sanding, a repair or a new floor.

Our Approach

Worker stacking new oak flooring boards with spacer battens between the layers inside a garage in Upland, the mountains beyond the open door.

We start every job with the house. We confirm the build year before any sanding, because much of Upland’s housing is older and the EPA lead-safe rule reaches paint disturbed in pre-1978 homes. On engineered floors, we measure the wear layer before promising a sanding, since a thin one cannot survive a full refinish.

Concrete gets the same treatment. We test the slab for moisture before an engineered floor is glued down and write the reading down rather than guessing. When a floor has been damaged by water, we confirm the leak is fixed and the moisture readings are back in range before any board is replaced.

We also try to make the work easier to live with. Dust containment keeps sanding where it belongs, and a written cure schedule tells you which rooms close and when they reopen. Our finishes are chosen to meet South Coast AQMD Rule 1113, the wood coatings rule for this air basin.

Fair pricing and respect for the house matter to us as well. Stairs are priced by the tread and riser, so nothing is hidden in a room price. In older houses, we repair and match original boards rather than tearing floors out wholesale, because an original floor is often worth keeping.

Some jobs involve other people’s rules. For townhomes and condos, we check association rules and approvals before flooring is ordered. For insurance claims, we document water, smoke and ash damage room by room so the adjuster has a clear record to work from.

What We Do

We refinish and restore hardwood floors, repair damaged boards and subfloors, fix water-damaged floors, and install new solid and engineered hardwood, parquet and herringbone. We also convert carpeted rooms and stairs to wood and install new hardwood stair treads.
